What’s causing your stress?
Before you can manage your stress, you must identify it.
I'm sure you've heard before that "you must learn to manage your stress." But the truth is that unless you get familiar with your triggers, you won't be able to manage much of anything. We understand that perhaps the thought of facing your stress seems more daunting than the idea of managing the stress itself. But both go hand in hand.
Consider this, see your stressors as a messengers.
What are they communicating to you?
Is your stress saying you're overworked?
Perhaps you need better boundaries with with your job.
Is your stress saying you're burnt out?
Perhaps you need a sabbatical or vacation to rest.
Is your stress saying you have too much on your mind?
Perhaps you need a safe place to process Or to release and delegate some things.
Stress is an indicator of something gone awry. Your stress it trying to tell you that something needs to change. It's true that we cannot always control our stressors, but we can control our responses and potentially implement changes to help us cope.
