Do you need a vacation from your vacation?

What if a more sustainable model for our lives is to frequently incorporate days devoted to play and rest?

According to Adam Grant, research shows that shorter, more frequent vacations, such as a three day weekend, are more restful than a larger stint of time, such as a two weeks vacation.

It's easy in our hustle culture to work non-stop. It's harder to take the time we need to reenergize or create, even if for a day. What if a more sustainable model for our lives is to frequently incorporate days devoted to play and rest? What if the fruit of such a rhythm was less burnout, resentment, but more joy, time, and energy.

Ask yourself, when was the last time you took a Friday off? Are you using your vacation time? Why not plan a staycation?

Whatever it is that nourishes you, now is the time to start changing your routine for longterm success.
