What Is One Thing You Definitely Don’t Want to Change?

Hi leaders,

Last month, I wrote about some of my chronic health issues and stepping into change when life forces you to.

However, this month I’ve been thinking a lot about contentment and what it means to be grateful for exactly where you are in your life.

I think as leaders we can focus so much on change and developing ourselves (I mean, that’s what Sway is built around), but an overly constant push toward self-betterment can also make us lost in regards to our identity and what in our life is working.

Here’s this month’s reflection question:

What is one thing about your life you definitely don’t want to change?

I would encourage you to think about this question both in personal terms but also in larger social terms. What is your organization’s special sauce that should, under no circumstances, be messed with? What are family rhythms that work exceedingly well? You can even go to Sway’s website and download the Wheel of Life and come up with a version of this question for each category of the Wheel.

By remembering what in our lives shouldn’t change, we can have a more solid foundation for our identity. Plus, it gives more weight to how we want to improve ourselves and systems moving forward.

Happy to be leading with you,

Ashlee
